It’s true. I am one of the biggest journal hoarders you’ll ever meet.
I have big journals, small journals, composition notebooks, journaling journals, list notepads, tiny spirals…et cetera, et cetera. Just take a look at my collection.
And those are just the ones I had in my desk drawers. Who knows how many are scattered elsewhere in my room! 😉
I’ve been a journal hoarder for as long as I can remember. Every once in a while I have to purge and get rid of some. Why Olivia, you ask. Why do you have so many journals? There is no way you can ever fill all those.
That might be true. Or it might be false. But anyway, I’m here to tell you why I’m a journal hoarder. Believe it or not, I have semi-logical reasoning behind it.
I can’t resist sales. Good sales are one of my weak spots. Mainly when the items on clearance are books, artsy stuff, or, I don’t know, JOURNALS. All of the following journals are courtesy of sales (thank you, Marshall’s and Barnes & Noble).
The My Top 10 notebook is chock-full of Top 10 lists of everything I can think of! (Sitcoms, websites, Disney movies…) The Adventure in Progress (sorry, I couldn’t find it online) is a traveling notebook, and Unleash Your Creativity is filled to the brim with writing prompts. 🙂 It could be argued that I needed none of these, but they were on sale so much that I just couldn’t help myself.
I can’t stand to get rid of old journals. It is very hard for me to let go of the journal I wrote in when I was three…or five…or ten. Or even last year. Who knows? I might want those ideas someday. I always love to unearth an old notebook and read things I wrote, though most of the time they embarrass me.
I love, love, love lists. I am the Queen Listmaker. At this very moment, there’s a list of To Do Today sitting on my desk (write journal blog post can soon be crossed off). I have a lot of notepads that have been used for listing so many times.
A quick example..Books To Check Out, A Journal is a perfect tool to keep the listmaker inside of me happy. AND THE COVER.
I have always been a journal hoarder. It’s just who I am. You can ask anyone who knows me well. This is my friend’s reaction every time I tell her I bought a new journal: “Olivia, you do not need another one.”

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed. 😀 I’ve been wanting to do a more discussion-y type post. So, let’s discuss! Are you a journal hoarder, too? Or do you hoard something else? See you in the comments!

Oh yes, I have a serious journal addiction. T.J Max is my weakness! I love buying them but I never really know what to write in them. I have several empty ones waiting for a stroke of inspiration!

Haha! 🙂 I have the same problem. I like having a few empty journals for that reason, too! I’ve never shopped for journals at T.J. Maxx but now I’m going to have to check it out.

I wouldn’t say I hoard but I do have a lot of journals that I fill up with multiple things—-> https://theobsessionbegins.wordpress.com/2017/04/23/5-different-ways-to-journal/
