There are so many reasons to love yourself.
You are beautiful. You are unique. You are loved. And oftentimes, it’s much too easy to forget that. Today I’m going to talk about things that every girl should never forget, and participate in the self-love tag. 🙂
Body image is something that every single girl out there struggles with. Even if you aren’t too worried about it, you probably think about it at least once in a while. I do, too- it’s almost unconscious, a habit that I (and the rest of the world) have fallen into.
So many girls look in the mirror and hate what they see, and it breaks my heart. You don’t have to be the next Miss America to feel beautiful- it’s so much more than that. A world where everyone saw their beauty would be a wonderful place.
This blog post- one of billions, I’m sure -won’t be able to achieve that. But I hope it can open your mind a little, and help you see your beauty. 🙂
You were made by God’s own hands.
We hear that all the time, and maybe it’s lost some of its meaning for you. But think about it! God, the creator of the stars and every animal and all the nature, took time to make you exactly how you are.
“For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.”-Psalms 139: 13-14
He crafted you specifically, and He doesn’t make mistakes. Everything he creates is intentionally beautiful in its own way- and you’re a creation of God.
“Yet you, Lord, are our Father.
We are the clay, you are the potter;
we are all the work of your hand.”-Isaiah 64:8
God is the potter, and you are the clay. You are a result of his best work, and He put effort into creating you the way you are!
True beauty is found on the inside.
Once again, a cliche. But it’s such a true statement! You can have the best hair, the straightest teeth, and the perfect figure. But if you’re rude and mean and people don’t like to be around you… I think the person who maybe appears to have more imperfections, but has a loving and tender soul, comes across as beautiful.
Hair turns gray, skin gets wrinkles, and teeth turn yellow. Outward beauty is fleeting and won’t last forever, but the kindness inside of you is eternal.
Instead of focusing on the you in the mirror, try focusing on the you inside. Because the inside is where your beauty truly comes from.
You are the only you out there.
Okay, yes, there are dopplegangers…and there are identical twins…but there’s nobody out there exactly like you. 😉
You’re the only one with your exact body and your exact thoughts. Isn’t that amazing? 7.6 billion people in this entire world, but you’re the only person just like you.
It’s truly mind-blowing to think about how unique you are. NO ONE else is like you at all! No one! That makes you, and me, incredibly unique and beautiful. You’re one of a kind, and no one can ever take that way from you.
The Self-Love Tag
I was kindly tagged for this by Carol! If you haven’t yet, do go read her tag post and stalk the rest of her lovely blog.😊 Thank you for tagging me, Carol! I’ll be nominating people at the of the questions.
1. One feature you love about yourself?
I love my eyes. People tell me I have big eyes (but in a good way XD) and they’re a hazel sort of color, which I like because it’s a green/brown/golden combination. 🙂
2. One feature you wished you could change that you have accepted?
I used to really dislike my nose…for no particular reason, I just thought there was nothing special about it. I still don’t think there’s anything great about it, but I don’t dislike it anymore, either. It’s just my nose. XD
3. Have you ever thought of getting surgery to change your imperfections?
No! If that’s what you want, you do you, but that’s not something I’d want to do. I can’t think of anything I’d want to change enough to get a surgery that would alter the face God gave me. Even after a surgery, I don’t know if I’d ever allow myself to be 100% satisfied with my appearance, so it wouldn’t be worth it.
4. Has a family member/friend ever put you down about your physical appearance? If so, what for?
No! And as Carol said, if someone has done that to you, please don’t listen to them. No matter the circumstances, no one should put you down for your physical appearance, it’s just plain unnecessary. If it’s a friend, I would rethink your relationship with them if it continues to happen, because you should surround yourself with people who will build you up, not tear you down.
5. Something you love about your fashion or sense of style?
I love that I don’t really care too much. I mean, I try to follow the trends yeah right but at the end of the day, does it really matter what I wore to school in high school? No, it doesn’t- so while I make an effort, I really don’t care about what I’m wearing.
6. Why is your body a great place to be?
I love being in my body because it allows me to go to school and learn, and go to dance and be able to dance. It lets me write this post and do my homework and hang out with my friends and family, and that’s something I never want to take for granted.
Thank you again for tagging me, Carol! It fit in nicely with this post. 😉 I tag the people followed, but please don’t feel pressured to do this, and if I didn’t tag you but you want to do this, then please do so!

This is one of the main things girls struggle with today. Even me sometimes. But thank you for this wonderful reminder that we are made by the most loving, caring, creative person in the universe, and that He created us for a purpose. He made everyone just how they were supposed to be made. That should make you smile. I sure do! Thanks, Olivia!

Oh Olivia, this is such a beautiful and well-needed post, thank you so much for sharing this 🙂 It really is mind-blowin when we think that, no matter how similar we can look to someone else, we are still unique in our own way, how we act, how we think and everything else. I love that 🙂 x

Thank you for reading, Marie! I’m truly so glad you enjoyed reading it. 💞I agree, it’s insane that we are all so different! But insane in the best way possible, because the uniqueness of each and every person is a wonderful thing. 😉

Great that you posted about this, cause even though peeps can put us down, we rise and just completely slay the obstacles. And we’re all beautiful. If we see ourselves as pretty, that’s a heck of an awesome attitude. Keep slaying.

I almost criedddddd 😭 Self-love and accepting myself were things I kind of used to struggle with…and sometimes I still do. It’s really sad how teen girls (me included, sad as that is) kick ourselves down or see pics on social media and are like “I wish I looked like [fill in the blank].” God made us exactly the way we are and we need to accept it.

AWW ZELLA! It makes me sad, too. Cause I know God is perfect…and He’s the one who made us the way we are!
