I blinked and then April was over.
2018 is already going by so fast (I’m still writing 2017 on my papers, no joke), but this month went by fastest for me. I honestly can’t believe it’s already May! And that summer is so close, I can nearly see it. π
In this post I’m going to (briefly) wrap up April, set a few goals for the upcoming month, and then talk about a few blogging related things. Lettuce begin.
Ha. Ha. What are books again?!
Fun fact, I didn’t read any books at all this month! But I’m not that upset about it, because like I said, AprilΒ flew by for me, and I have pretty much no recollection of it…? A few books that are on my TBR for May are:
- Challenger Deep, by Neal Schusterman
- ACOTAR series
- My Dear Hamilton, by Stephanie Dray & Laura Kamoie (my mom got me this for Easter and I’m really excited to read it because ELIZA AND HAMILTON AND HISTORY)
Since school is being very annoying and requiring lots of my time, I probably won’t get much reading done until summer, but that’s okay. Wow I have low expectations for myself.
My March Goals- How Did I Do?
- Read 5 books βΒ wow. just wow
- Read before bed more often β I did a few times, but not enough to give myself a check mark
- Go to the library β
- Read 1 book from my TBR βΒ it would have been helpful to read 1 book
Goals for May
- Read 2 books
- Read 1 book from TBR
- Make summer reading bucket list
Blogging went pretty well this month. I actually discovered a lot of new blogs, which is always amazing! And I created a blog survey, which was also amazing!
I Posted:
- March in Review (I read books?!) + Welcoming of April // My typical monthly recap, featuring all the books I read..basically the opposite of this post. XD
- What Every Girl Should Know About Beauty + The Self Love Tag // I liked this post and talking about more lifestyle and meaningful topics!
- Mini Reviews + BOOK RECS//ft. Hyped Books & Even More Screeching // Wow, long title there. But this post was chock full of smol reviews of gigantically amazing books, and I had a lot of fun writing it.
- MY BLOG SURVEY! + Give Me Feedback // I shall talk about this later on in the post, but thank you times a million for all the feedback!
I was supposed to post this yesterday, but guess who missed their blogging schedule day for the first time in months?! Hint, it rhymes with Bolivia.
April Goals…How Did I Do?
- Make blog survey β
- Do mini reviews post β
- Some kind of lifestyle post β
- Stick to blogging schedule β
Goals for May
- Stick to blogging schedule
Besides that, I really don’t have any idea what I want to post about this month! I’ll definitely be thinking about that soon, but as of right now, I don’t know.
Life was good this month! A few notable things happened. π
- I got my braces off! *cheers*
- It was Easter, and my family came into town, which was really fun.
- MY DANCE RECITAL HAPPENED! This is basically what this whole month was centered around, even though it only happened a couple days ago. It was super tiring (we had shows all weekend) but SO fun and I loved dancing and being with all of my best friends.
- I got a new Bible! I got this She Reads Truth Bible. I haven’t been able to explore it much yet, but so far I really like it.
- I just discovered this today (thanks to Elizabeth!), but it came out yesterday, so I can count First Burn on April, right? I’ve listened to it 5000039482 times in the last hour and it’s AMAZING. Hamilton fans, go watch the video now!
I’m hoping May goes by fast (but not as fast as April did?! cause I honestly can’t remember too much of April and that’s scary) because that means school ends quicker. My summer starts on June 2nd, and I can’t wait!
For the last part of this post, I’m going to be sharing a few blogging updates. Nothing serious, don’t worry. π
- Thank you so much to everyone who took my blog survey!β₯ (You can still take it here if you haven’t yet and want it.) Your feedback was so valuable, and I really, really appreciate it all!
- I’m still sorting through all the feedback (I need to make a chart or graph or something), but a lot of the post recommendations are things I’m interested in doing soon. A few of them are:
- More book recommendations
- More blogging related posts
- Pet peeves with books
- My walk with Christ
- And more!
- Again, I really can’t thank you enough for all the feedback, and I hope to incorporate some of these posts in soon.
- I have decided that during the summer (June, July, and most of August for me) I am going to try and post twice a week! If I’m busy, then I won’t, because I am not going to sacrifice quality for quantity. But I think I’ll have enough extra time on my hands to post often. I’m really excited for that!
And that’s a wrap! Overall, April was much too fast. I’m looking forward to seeing what May has in store for me, and especially looking forward to a (hopefully) slow and wonderful summer. π
How was your April? What posts do you want to see? When does your summer begin? I’d love to chat with you in the comments.

I am in the same boat with almost everything you mentioned here (what *are* books?) But guess what – I just finished Fahrenheit 451 and it was AMAZING! I think I’ve already asked you, but did you read that one? ππππ

Aww, I feel you. Here’s to hoping we both discover books this month! π Ahh, I have read Fahrenheit 451. I liked it, but I was kind of confused on what was going on for most of it. XD Maybe I need to reread it sometime?

Looks like you had a good month! Mine was fine too, though nothing big happened, but oh well. π
Is it weird that summer vacation ends next month where I live? π

I barely remember what happened in April besides… softball and baseball? π
So, um, yeah!
My summer begins in late May, which is also when I’m supposed to have my first softball game of the year! But even though I’m excited for that, I’m mostly looking forward to June, when I’ll be going to bible camp again!
I also have some book recommendations for you: Old Yeller, Guardians of Ga’hoole, and maybe Ice Dogs. I don’t know if you’d like that last one (I’d give it a 3.5 stars), but I thought I’d tell you anyways.
I hope you have an awesome May!

I relate so much! Like, I hardly even know what I did in April. XD
Ahh, that sounds so fun! I hope softball season goes well. I’ve always wanted to go to camp, I hope that’s also fun! π
Ooh, thank you so much for the recommendations! I have read most of the books in the Guardians of Ga’hoole series a long time ago (I LOVE OWLS), and I’ve heard of Old Yeller (but I don’t know if I can bring myself to read it because SAD), and I haven’t heard of Ice Dogs. I’ll have to check them out!
Thank you so much, Anna, I hope your May is wonderful as wellβ€οΈβ€οΈ

That’s why I didn’t want to read Old Yeller, too. But I’m glad I did. It was kind of a good sad, like one to make you reflect. Plus, that’s only at the end of the book! (yes, it made me cry, if that’s what you wanted to know π )

Don’t worry, I’m still writing 2016 so…. you’re doing okay, writing 2017 hahahaha.
I hope that school isn’t too bothering, summer should be here quite quickly though, so that’s awesome for you π
I can’t wait to see the new kind of blog posts on your blog, Olivia, I’ll be looking forward to it all π
Hope you’ll have a wonderful month x

I added My Dear Hamilton to my to-be-read list. It looks GOOD. Also: I really appreciate you linking to Goodreads. Ahhh, you got your braces off! Did it feel super weird to you too and like there was extra space in your mouth and your teeth were INSANELY smooth?? The She Reads Truth Bible looks BEAUTIFUL. At the end of last year I got the Journaling Bible Interleaved Edition and it’s pretty cool. My last day of school is June 1. I am SO EXCITED for summer!

It does look so good! I’m excited to read it. (Wait, are you a fan of Hamilton?!)
Haha, YES! My teeth felt so slimy and gross at first, but now they feel normal. πIt’s been about a month now.
I’ll have to look up that Bible! The She Reads Truth one is amazing.
I’m so excited for summer too! My last day is June 1st too. Thanks for your comment, Annie!

AHH I’m sorry to disappoint you, but no, I am not a Hamilton fan.
I KNOW, it felt very slimy. At first, for some reason I kind of actually missed having braces which is SO WEIRD.
You’re welcome!

NOOOO, you have disappointed me greatly. (Just kidding, it’s okay. π )
Haha, really? I don’t miss them at all…

Haha, I really wish I was though!
I know, I was surprised at myself for feeling that way. I think it was because I had had them for so long that they had become part of my identity. Which, I know, is strange.

April seems to be a very busy month for most of us here, as it is the last 2 months of school π It must felt really good to take off those braces! I just find out about She Reads the Truth Bible and it’s so pretty! It will definitely motivate me to read the bible more often ahaha.
Have a wonderful May!

Oh yes, definitely! School has been crazy these past few weeks, though luckily it’s winding down soon. π I love the She Reads Truth Bible, it definitely motivates me more, and it has space for journaling or writing verses out, too.
Thank you so much Tasya, I hope your May is wonderful as well!π
