And today, in a shocking turn of events, I will be obsessing over one of my favorite contemporary YA novels, The Last Summer of the Garrett Girls. I’ve been talking about this book a lot over the past few months, and in this post I’m going to be reviewing it and also sharing an interview with the author, Jessica Spotswood.

I first read this book back in July, and that’s when I originally wrote this review, but due to the logistics of everything, it’s just now getting to see the light. I’m so excited to finally be sharing all my thoughts, and doubly excited that I had the opportunity to interview the author for this post.

But you know what’s even better than a classic? A review and buddy read of a classic with a fellow blogger. 😉 So if you couldn’t tell, I’m so excited for today’s post- a discussion of my thoughts about Emma, by Jane Austen.

I know classics aren’t for everyone, but I love them dearly. One of my all time favorites was Pride & Prejudice, and I made it one of my goals to read more books by Jane Austen soon- and I’m working towards that goal by reading Emma! Even if you’re not the biggest classic lover, maybe my review will be convince you to read it.

Why I Still Love Dystopians + A Dystopian Review (!!)

Confession time. I still love dystopian books.

I made that sound so dramatic, but for some reason I feel like dystopian books are so underrated these days. These days meaning in 2018. I mean, I can’t think of a dystopian book that I’ve heard people talking about that was published recently. And that makes me sad, because the thing is, I love dystopian.

Today I’m going to be sharing reasons I’m still obsessed with dystopian novels (even though the glory days of The Hunger Games are mostly over *tear*) and also be doing a very exciting review of a dystopian short story I was given the opportunity to read recently. I’m excited, so let’s jump right in!

Review: A List of Cages // My New Favorite Book & A Must-Read

Today I have the honor of reviewing my new favorite book.

You know those books that keep you up all night? The ones that you can’t put down? The ones where you fall in love with the characters? Well, A List of Cages was each of those things, and more. It was simply amazing.

I don’t do reviews a lot, but I had to make the exception for this book. It deserves a full review that properly displays just how much I loved it. Prepare yourself for lots of raving.

Happily, by Chauncey Rogers: ARC Review + Interview With the Author!

I love fairytales.

Whether they’re classic or retellings, Grimm Brothers or Hans Christian Anderson, cliche or not, I’ll read them. Fairytales are one of my greatest weaknesses. 😉 The others being anything chocolate and, you guessed it, Hamilton.

So, I was so excited when I was given the opportunity to review a fairytale retelling. Not only that, but I was also able to do an interview with the author! I can’t wait to get into this post and share with you all the amazingness of Happily.

Though I didn’t have the best reading month in July, an upside is that every book I read was a book I was reading for the first time- meaning, no rereads! That’s a pretty big accomplishment for me. You might as well call me the Queen of Rereads.
