My 2019 Book Blogger Award Nominations // ft. all the love for book blogs + bloggers I adore!!

In case you didn’t know, book bloggers are beyond amazing.

Book bloggers not only balance normal life (meaning work, school, relationships, anything they have going on) with reading (because we need books like we need oxygen) but on top of all that they blog about it too?? Yes, they deserve all the love and adoration in the world.

Taking into account all the time and effort my fellow book bloggers put into maintaining blogs (and being the absolute best humans while doing it), I can’t think of any better way to nominate them than to participate in the 2019 Book Blogger Awards.

These awards, formerly held by Joce @ Write Through the Night (she’s now a retired book blogger), are being hosted by May @ Forever and Everly this year, and I’m so, so excited to be participating. A huge thank you to May for taking on this project- I know it’s going to help boost so many bloggers and it’s so wonderful that she’s continuing it!

In this post, I’m going to be sharing my nominations for all the categories and also talking a little bit about all the bloggers I’m nominating. You all know me, I can talk forever, especially about people I love. 😉

If you want more information on how to participate (which you should definitely participate!!) then definitely go check out May’s post where she talks about all the rules, gives all the categories, and just, in general, informs you about the entire awards.

Before I get into nominating bloggers, I wanted to put it out there that if I don’t nominate you it doesn’t mean I don’t love you or your blog! I definitely do. These awards are only for book bloggers so I will solely be nominating bloggers who specifically blog about books. Additionally, I just can’t mention everyone because there are too many amazing bloggers out there, but I do adore and appreciate you all!

All right, without further ado, let’s get into the nominations!

Best Pre-Teen/Teen Blogger (13-19)

I most definitely have to say May @ Forever and Everly for this one. Not only is it completely fitting that I start off this post by recognizing her (she’s the reason all this blogger love is being spread!!), but she’s really and truly one of the best bloggers out there. She writes invigorating discussion posts, great reviews, is constantly giving out book recommendations, and is super involved with the blogging community. I’ll be talking about her more in this post, but you should just know she’s awesome!

Best Adult Blogger (20+)

Jenna @ Bookmark Your Thoughts is such a wonderful blogger! I can’t say enough good things about her. She’s constantly interacting with the community, she posts so consistently, writes awesome reviews, participates in tags, and is overall so involved in blogging. She’s also a very lovely, kind person who I’m so glad to have gotten to know! It’s honor to be blogging friends with her.

I love Becky @ Blogs of a Bookaholic and her blog so, so much. When I was trying to think of what category she fit best in, I realized she fits in them all and that’s what led me to put her here!! Whether she’s posting a review, a tag post, a discussion, I know it’s going to be such a quality post. I love her personality, the topics she writes about, and she’s just such a great person who is always up for a comment conversation and she’s always supported me and my blog so much. She deserves all the love!

Young Adult

Even though she’s on hiatus right now, I couldn’t help but nominate May @ My 1st Chapter for this!! She gives the best YA recommendations and I love reading all of her reviews. I see them all the time on Goodreads and it makes me SO happy to read them because they’re so comprehensive and are often her fangirling over the book and I relate so much?!!? Also, it’s important to say that May is always SO SWEET and has never failed to make my day a thousand times better just with one of her comments.

✨Clockwrk Words✨

I can always count on Lydia @ Clockwrk Words to provide me with all the YA feels at all times. She’s always there with the YA book recommendations (she does recommendations by Hogwarts house?! YES PLEASE) and basically talks YA all the time on her blog and I’m here for it. I love getting to know her through her posts and in the comments because she’s such a kind person!

New Adult / General Adult

Kristin @ Kristin Kraves Books was one of the first book bloggers I followed way back in the day and she’s continued to have incredible reviews!! She does review YA as well, but she also has excellent reviews and recommendations for adult books. Kristin posts so consistently, with a great variety of posts (tags, features specific to her blogs, reviews) and is such a kind blogger.

Romance

My lovely, dear friend Malanie @ Malanie Loves Fiction (who is currently on hiatus) could fit into so many more categories, but I chose this one for her because I feel as if she gives such amazing YA romance recs. She gives ALL the great recs, even when it’s not romance, but I’ve discovered a ton of great YA romance from her and I can’t thank her enough! Malanie is also the sweetest soul who fangirls with me and supports my obsessions with various books and I just love her so much.

Best Book Reviews

Annie @ Blossoms and Bullet Journals has so much to offer on her blog, what with her bullet journal spreads and bookish content, but she also writes the best book reviews. I love the structure, the amount of depth she goes into, and I’ve found so many new books that ended up being my favorite from her blog. I can always count on Annie to have a trustworthy, reliable, intriguing review. She’s also a really great friend and will always fangirl with me or make me day with a kind comment!

Another blogger whose book reviews I really admire is Kay @ Hammock of Books. She never fails to write reviews that get me either wanting the book she’s talking about right this instant or make me second guess how much I really want to read it (if it’s a negative review). I really value her bookish opinions and they often line up with mine! Kay is such a sweet person and I love getting to know her in our comment conversations.

Best Book Recommendations

I only recently discovered Nimika @ Wordhaven, but I’ve already gotten so many recommendations from her that my TBR has grown approximately three sizes. That was only a slight exaggeration. Her posts are chock-full of recommendations based on different topics, genres, etc.! I love the way she sets up the books she’s recommending, reading her descriptions of them always convinces me to pick them up and it’s like being in a warm hug from so many books. She’s been so, so kind to me and I’ve loved getting to know her!!

Rhi @ Marshmallow Harmonies is like the Queen of Book Recommendations™. I go into one of her posts already knowing that I’m going to leave with a heck of a lot more books on my TBR than when I clicked on it…but I love it! In addition to the fabulous bookish content on her blog, she is. the. best. ever!! To know Rhi is to love Rhi and her personality, and I’m forever grateful we’ve become such great friends through the blogosphere.

Best Discussion Posts

If I see a discussion post by Ilsa @ A Whisper of Ink in my Reader, I honestly get so excited to read it! Ilsa does amazing discussions about blogging and bookish topics that always get me thinking and offer insight into another perspective on a topic. She’s not afraid to talk about more difficult topics and I love that! Also, Ilsa has always been so, so kind to me, supporting me even back when I was a really tiny book blogger, and she’s such a wonderful person and friend in the community.

Best Blog Aesthetic

My dear friend, Tiffany @ Read By Tiffany, has the most aesthetically pleasing blog in the history of ever. She recently redesigned, and it’s genuinely so beautiful! The pink, the white background, the font, the way her posts are structured, her sidebar, I’M OBSESSED and it’s my perfect Hufflepuff aesthetic. Additionally, Tiffany’s bookish content is so wonderful, and she is one of the sweetest people in the blogosphere. I know I can always count on her to brighten my day, encourage me, and be the kindest!

Just looking at Elizabeth @ Redgal Musing‘s header…it’s already so aesthetically pleasing. Not only is her header beautiful, but the rest of her blog is, too! All her featured images and photos she uses in her posts (which pretty much all the time is her own photography) is beyond beautiful and makes reading her posts the best experience ever. Not to mention that her content is 10000/10 stars, and Elizabeth herself is funny, kindhearted, and an amazing person and blogger.

Best Blogging/Writing Voice

Julianna @ Paper Blots has the epitome of an amazing blogging voice. If I was reading a post without knowing who wrote it, I would be able to tell it was her!! She has a great sense of humor that translates into her blog posts SO well. Like, I’ve laughed out loud reading her blog before?? Plus, she’s super nice and I love getting to chat with her in the comments and witness her awesome personality.

Most Engaged in the Community

I was trying not to nominate anyone twice, but I just had to say Marie @ Drizzle & Hurricane Books for this category because she fits it so well! I talk a lot more about her personality in a category to come (oops, I definitely wrote this post out of order) but Marie is SO engaged in the community, always leaving genuine, thoughtful comments and blog hopping and it’s truly beyond amazing that she does what she does.

Best Social Media Influencer

At first, I wasn’t sure who to nominate for this, but I saw other bloggers nominating Mel @ Mel to the Any and YES, YES, YES. Mel is involved on so many platforms (her blog, booktube, bookstagram, Goodreads!) and she’s so dedicated and active on all of them. On top of that, she’s such a lovely person and you can really see her passion through her posts, Goodreads reviews, and YouTube videos!

Best Personality

I love, love, love Chana and Malka @ Paper Procrastinators so much. Whether it’s a book review, a recommendation post, a discussion, a monthly wrap-up- both of their personalities consistently shine through and make reading their posts so enjoyable! I get so excited every time I see them in my Reader. I’m so happy that I’ve found their blog because they’ve been nothing but absolute kind angels to me and are so wonderful.

Friendliest Member of the Community

It’s no wonder Lily @ Sprinkles of Dreams became such so popular in the blogosphere so quickly, because she is such a kind, genuine, friendly soul. From the moment we started commenting on each other’s blogs, I felt like we’d known each other forever! Lily is so supportive, encouraging, and is always there if I need to talk. She’s such a welcoming person and truly is so sweet. She also has the loveliest blog content and wow, I just love her and her blog so much!!

Best at Promoting Diverse Books

If you don’t know May @ Forever and Everly, then you should. 😉 Not only is she hosting these whole awards, but she gives amazing diverse book recommendations!! May always boosts and promotes diverse books and I’ve found so many new reads from her blog. Besides that, May is incredibly funny, relatable, kind, and a wonderful person. I’m so happy to be in the blogosphere at the same time as her and get to know her personality! Look around, look around, at how lucky we are to be alive right now…

Best New Blogger (est. after 8/18)

Caitlin @ Caitlin Althea only started her blog in February, but she’s already such an established book blogger! Her book reviews and book recommendations are stellar and I can’t wait to see her blog keep growing. She’s such a seasoned book blogger already!! I’m so happy I discovered her blog because she’s super sweet, kind, and in the short time we’ve known each other, we’ve already done so much fangirling over books. She’s such a great addition to the blogging community!

Best Small Book Blogger

I genuinely believe that Lais @ The Bookish Skies deserves so many more followers! She’s so, so kind, she posts quality content, amazing reviews, and has a wonderful personality. I admire her book blog so much and I know that it will keep growing and growing because it’s one of the best out there. I’m so glad that I get to have comment conversations with her and get to know her beautiful self.

Best Book Blogger

I couldn’t think of anyone better for this award than Marie @ Drizzle & Hurricane Books. I truly could have seen her being the recipient of any of the above awards, and that’s what led me to nominate her for overall best book blogger! Marie is incredibly friendly, sweet, astonishingly active in the blogosphere and has never been anything but supportive and kind to me and every blogger out there. Her blog is beautiful, her content is stellar, she’s recommended half my TBR for me- I couldn’t love her or her blog more!!

This was such a wonderful post to write, and I truly enjoyed boosting so many of my favorite bloggers!💓 (But again, if you weren’t on this list, please know that I love you and it doesn’t mean you aren’t one of my favorites.)
