February Recap // I’m Back For Real This Time + I Need Your Help!!

I’m not quite sure what happened to February.

I feel as if it was just mid-January and I was still writing 2018 on all my papers, but here we are in the third month of the year. I blinked, and February was over.

It was a rainy, cold month filled with a lot of school, dancing, reading, and hardly any blogging. However, I’m very excited to be back with the new month, and hopefully this time I’m here to stay. 😉

Blog Title - Design #1 (14)

Despite the fact that my last post was also a monthly recap (yes, I’m very disappointed in myself about this), in this post I’m going to be wrapping up February by talking about what I read, did, and blogged.

Without further ado, on to the post!

Well, maybe I didn’t blog this month, but somehow I managed to read books.

I finished my Harry Potter reread, a fact that I’m simultaneously excited and sad about (I already miss all the characters and want to visit them again) and then read some contemporaries that I’m looking forward to talking more about in future posts!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter, #4)Your Destination Is on the LeftHarry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter, #5)Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter, #6)Brave EnoughHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter, #7)The Other Side of LostSummer Bird Blue

I don’t know if I’ll end up talking about my Harry Potter reread here on the blog? I did another reread this past July and did a post then and I don’t think much of my insights have changed. I will say that I just love it more and more every time I read it.⚡️

As for all the contemporaries, I really did truly enjoy them all. I’m expecting to do some sort of post about them all this month, although what kind of post is yet to be decided!

So…I disappeared. Again.

Truth be told, I was so busy with homework and dance and just life that I didn’t have much time to blog, and when I did have time, I felt unmotivated. I never want to feel like I have to publish a post, especially when I wrote it out of an uninspired place.

I can’t promise that this will be the last time I leave unannounced for weeks at a time, but I sincerely hope it is. I missed talking with you all, writing posts, and reading all of your posts while I was gone.

I’m officially back. 😉

I did write one blog post this month, which was a review of January, but the most memorable blogging moment for me was seeing all the love on my Wonderstruck Book Tag! I truly can’t thank you enough for all your support on it. Reading people’s post who did (and enjoyed?!) my tag was the BEST feeling, and wow, I just love you all. Thank you so, so much!

Finally, the last rambling update I have for this section…I’ve been feeling way more inspired to write post this month, and I was hoping y’all might be able to give me some recommendations on what you’d like to see.

If you have the time, I’d love for you to take this quick, less-than-a-minute-to-fill-out survey! It would really help me out with putting out the best content I can.

Like I said, I honestly can’t believe February has gone by so fast. I feel like I blinked and it was March. I’m hoping to cherish this month a little more, but that’s not to say February didn’t have a few good moments!

  • Hanging out with friends. I got to spend some quality time with friends this month, and I also drove a friend for the first time! (Before I’d only driven myself and family members.)
  • Listening to old Taylor. HI, YES, I HAVE BEEN KEEPING UP ALL THE TS7 CONSPIRACIES, and I’m kind of living for them. So I’ve been listening to a lot more old Taylor than normal because, well, it’s just giving me all the best vibes.
  • It’s been uncharacteristically cold and rainy. It’s been so cloudy this month that I actually notice when it’s sunny. Normally where I live, sun is a given. I don’t hate this type of weather, but I’m kind of ready for spring.
  • I watched a new Netflix show. A lot of my friends and I got obsessed with this new Netflix show, Yummy Mummies. It’s hilariously obnoxious (but oddly entertaining) reality TV, and well, it’s been the topic of many a discussion this month.

That concludes my first post of March! I hope it’s the first of many, and that your month has been going well so far.☀️

Thank you for all your support even through my absence, and thank you for taking my small survey if you were able to! I truly appreciate you all so much. *hugs you through the computer screen*

How was your month? Do you like cloudy weather or prefer the sun? What have you been reading? I’d love to chat with you all in the comments.

  2. I also leave unexpectedly and consequently unannounced on the blog! It’s a habit I’m hoping to fix this year. You’re right, though, it’s important to not feel like you have to post. Blogging shouldn’t get in the way of living, otherwise there’d be nothing to blog about! I filled out your survey! Such a good idea. I might do that one day as well, but right now I’m just posting whatever I feel like and it feels great! ^_^ \

Best of luck on your goals this month! ❤

    • Sometimes life just happens and blogging has to go to the backburner, but I’m with you on trying to fix that habit this year. 😉 Thank you for taking my survey, I really appreciate it!

Thanks again, Laurel, I hope you have a great March!💘

I really liked both of those! They were probably a couple of my favorites of the month. I think I’ll be reviewing them more in depth later though, hehehe.

  4. The ts7 conspiracies are crazyyy and I hope that she releases some news soon?? Because that would be awesome? I honestly thought the ig countdown was thing, but then it wasn’t? 😭 when do you think she’s going to release new music?

  5. Ahh I’ve missed your posts. I hope things become less stressful for you but YAY! at least you done some reading, right? I’m excited to hear your thoughts on Summer Bird Blue – I haven’t read it yet despote that attractive pretty cover XD I LOVE THE SUNNY WEATHER SO MUCH. It’s been pretty warm where I live, which is nice, but it’s supposed to be Winter here and it’s scarily looking like global warming (this time last year it was SNOWING). so yikes!

    • Aww, and I’ve missed reading your posts!❤️Okay, ahhh, Summer Bird Blue was so good. I might have even liked it more than Starfish? But I read Starfish a long time ago so maybe I just don’t fully remember it’s amazingness. XD I LOVE SUNNY WEATHER, TOO. You get snow?! I kinda miss snow, we used to get it when I was younger but now it has just…stopped. Thank you for your comment, hope you have a great month!

I hope you'll review the contemporary books you've read, I'm so curious to hear your thoughts on all of them, especially, your destination is on the left, this book is on my TBR and it sounds SO good! Oh and The Other Side of Lost. and Summer Bird Blue. EVERYTHING OKAY hahaha. ❤
I hope you will have an amazing March, sending you all the love! And I filled out your survey, too! ❤

Haha, don’t worry, I am planning to do reviews (well, probably mini ones) on all of the ones you mentioned. I’m so excited because I highly recommend them all and I can’t wait to scream about them!
Ahhh, thank youuuu, wishing you the best month too! 🙂

  7. Welcome back!!! *waves pompoms* February is only 3 days shorter than most months but it feels like 3 weeks shorter?? I only read 2 books in February which was definitely an all time low! But between applying for jobs, getting read to graduate college, midterms, and my brother and dad’s birthdays, I just didn’t read much. Hopefully this month I can read more! I’m actually on spring break now. 😀 Happy reading Olivia!

    • Thank you! *rubs pom poms together excitedly* All right, that’s the truest statement ever- it really does feel SO much shorter. Don’t feel bad about not reading too much, it looks like you had a lot going on and that’s totally understandable. Enjoy your spring break (mine is next week, I can’t wait XD) and happy reading to you too! ❤

  8. By me sunlight is not a given, and I miss it when it’s gone. Hopefully March means it will slowly start getting warmer and sunnier, although the snow on the ground right now isn’t promising.

I’m so glad to see you’re back! And that you enjoyed what you read while you were gone! I hope your March is wonderful!

  9. I love the sunshine! We’ve had so much rain, I’m over it! I’m currently reading Bonfire by Krysten Ritter and I like it! I’m also doing a slow HP re-read throughout this year. Sorceror’s Stone is next on my list.

  10. I’ve said this before, but wow your graphics are so beautifulll. Anyways, here’s to hoping you can fulfill all of your goals for march! I totally didn’t read the books I wanted to read in February, which kind of sucks, but I’m not that dejected about it! ❤ ALSO, good luck to posting more!! ❤ ❤ All the hugs.

  11. Hey girl, welcome back! I’ve been missing your posts 😦 But then again, February has also been a really busy month for me and I didn’t get much blogging done 😛 Yay for HP and I took the survey.

  12. Ahhh, hello!!! Right now I’m reading Bowlaway (novel about a woman who opens a bowling alley, but not the regular type of bowling because she is not the regular type of woman-the vibe of the book is very distinct) and The Sacred Enneagram (which is about the Enneagram, a personality typing system that is much more than just that). Whoa, I drove a friend/someone outside my parents for the first time on Saturday! I’m curious-what do you do when you hang out with friends? Wait, what are the Taylor conspiracies?? I haven’t heard about them. I did see this post about Flat-earthers (I think that’s what they’re called) and how one of them did an experiment to prove that the earth is flat and when it surprisingly failed, his response was, “Oh. Interesting.” I thought it was funny. Haha, I haven’t heard of Yummy Mummies! A Netflix show that I have been watching though is Friends. I am now on episode sixteen of season one, which is a two parter with Phoebe’s twin (in case you still haven’t memorized the episodes yet ;)). I’m excited to hear about the contemporary books you read! And about that fantasy book :)). Oh! And as for buddy reads, I’m always up for one. Also, I’m not sure if my answers for the survey went in, so I’m going to say them here too-book recommendations post, mini-reviews, yes, and agh it was hard choosing between the choices for what I would rather read and I also love your monthly recaps. :))

    • Hi! Oh, that sounds so interesting. Now I’m curious as to what kind of bowling alley it is…XD I took the Ennegram test! I am a 6, and though I haven’t done much research on it I didn’t feel like the initial description was really spot on for me, which was sad because I heard a lot of people saying that it literally matched up exactly with their personality. That’s so cool you drove someone too! Well, I spend most of my life at school or dance, but when I do hang out with friends it’s either at a house (where we usually talk, watch a movie, or maybe have a random photoshoot) or at a coffeeshop (there’s this one in the downtown area of my town that’s amazing, even though I get the hot chocolate…it’s the best I’ve ever had). The Taylor conspiracies are basically all the theories fans had about her doing a countdown to her newest album on her insta account, since she changed her theme drastically. Sadly…thus far, they’ve amounted to nothing. (At least I think. I don’t have Instagram for Lent so I’m a little behind.) Haha, that’s so funny! Okay, I love Ursula. Well, not so much love, more like I love to dislike her character and find it hilarious that it’s also Lisa Kudrow. We should buddy read! We were going to buddy read I think Wild Beauty a while back, but then it wasn’t at my library, so maybe we could try again or try another book soon. Thanks for your survey answers! I hope you’re having a good week. Do you have spring break soon? Mine is next week, and I know we’re in pretty close proximity, so I was wondering if yours was also soon.

      • It’s this version of bowling where the pins are smaller and differently shaped, the bowling ball is smaller, and the points are tracked differently. Oh! Okay, I have to say that the Enneagram online tests is not how I figured out which number I am. It was from this book called The Road Back to You. Each chapter has a list of “I am” statements for each type, and after reading a few, I immediately knew. Ohh, that hot chocolate sounds good. My favorite times are hanging out with my friends and just talking and talking. Oh, that’s really exciting! Wow, I feel like Taylor Swift hasn’t dropped new songs in a while. That would definitely be a big deal. I am not buying any new clothes for Lent (for February, I got way too much stuff all in the name of my birthday). I also got this book called Bread and Wine and they’re daily readings for Lent and Easter. I know it’s going to be good because I read the companion collection (Watching for the Light) for Advent. I really like it because they’re a lot of different perspectives-I’ve grown up my whole life in a nondenominational church, so it’s cool. Yes, me too! Phoebe is way better than her twin. Yes, we should! Tell me if you have any ideas. :)) I actually had it this past week! For some reason, my school has it a week early than most schools around us. I hope you have an amazing spring break full of books and friends :))

        • That’s so cool! Oh, I’ll have to book at the book. Maybe it will give me a more accurate description! I know, Taylor hasn’t had a new album since fall 2017, which is quite a while, although she did recently finish her stadium tour so I would understand that she hasn’t done any new music. I do feel like it’s coming this year, though.🤞🏻I hope you have a good Lent season! Okay, I’ll let you know. :)) Oh, I hope you had a great break! Thank you!

          • Yes, tell me if you do!! Oh my yea, to create an album while being on tour? Wow, Taylor Swift releasing new songs would be a big deal. I hope it comes too. :)) Thank you, and you too! I did, thanks! And you’re welcome. :))

  13. My February felt very much like a whirlwind as well, so I completely get you on that! The cover of Brave Enough is gorgeous and I haven’t heard of that one, I’m going to look it up!

I notice you have ‘do a tag’ on your blogging goals, well I’ve just tagged you in The Pancake Book Tag which is my first ever original tag! https://beckysblogs.wordpress.com/2019/03/05/the-pancake-book-tag-pairing-books-with-sweet-treats/ 😀
