Answering All Your Q&As!! // ft. my dancing, blogging thoughts, Harry Potter, + much, much more

It’s time to answer all your burning questions about me!

Just kidding. I’m pretty sure no one is that curious, and it’s likely that you forgot you submitted questions to a Q&A in the first place…but hey! You did! And today I’m going to answer them for you. I hope my exuberance is coming through the computer screen at you right now.

Back at the beginning of June, I had a google form in one of my posts that invited you to ask any questions about me! The Q&A is in honor of Purely Olivia reaching 500 followers, which by the way, I am still crying over asjdiewlncs thank you. So many of you submitted some great questions and I’m looking forward to answering them in this post!

Blog Title - Design #1 (36)

There are so many questions about all kinds of topics- reading, blogging, writing, dance, and a lot of other random things too?? This is quite a long post, so please settle in, get a snack or a cup of hot cocoa, and enjoy. 😉

Without further ado, let’s get to answering some questions!

arrow

Do you write/have you written your own work, or do you just read?

I know I’ve talked about writing on my blog in the past like in the deep past, and while I’m not ruling anything out in the future, I don’t currently write my own work.

I used to write all the time and it was one of my biggest hobbies for quite a while! However, about a year ago, I started to pour my energy more into school, dance, and blogging and sort of set writing aside. I haven’t found my way back yet, but I’m okay with that.

arrow

What type of dance do you do?

This past dance season (I’m in the middle of seasons right now) I did ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, broadway jazz, and hip hop. Next year I’m adding tap and contemporary (oh my gosh, I’m so excited for contemporary).

Image result for harry potter gif

When I write it out, it sounds like a lot. Maybe there’s a reason I never have free time?

arrow

Why do you read more contemporary than fiction? Would you read fantasy?

I’ve talked before about why I love contemporaries, but in a nutshell, I love how much I can relate to them, not to mention that I enjoy reading popular books so I can scream about them with other people. Because ya know, I’m a book blogger and that’s what we do.

I do love a good fantasy every once and while! I’m actually getting more and more into fantasy and I nearly always enjoy it when I do pick it up.

arrow

What is your favorite color?

I always feel like I will be slightly judged by my answer, but it has to be pink. Pink is like my spirit color and I think that’s the Hufflepuff in me coming out.

arrow

Did you get to see Hamilton?

Sadly, I didn’t. It was in my city recently and I knew so many people that went and I kind of died inside every time I saw people posting pictures from it???

Image result for hamilton burn gif

In case you were wondering, that’s how I felt watching the small hope that somehow I’d win the Hamilton ticket lottery slowly burn away. But it’s okay, I do have hope that I’ll be able to see it one day!

arrow

What is a book that you think should be made into a movie?

Agh, so many. I wrote a post about this two summers ago (please don’t try to find it because you will REGRET IT) and I’m still holding out hope that Hollywood will read my blog and take my thoughts into account. *ahem*

BUT, to answer your question, I think Since You’ve Been Gone would be such a cute movie. It would be the perfect chick flick for Netflix and I can see it becoming such a popular summertime movie??

arrow

Would you call yourself a feminist? Why or why not?

Yes, I do call myself a feminist! A feminist is someone who supports social, political, economic, and personal equality of sexes and I support that with all of my being. How could I not?

arrow

Why did you decide to start blogging?

I started blogging way back just over five years ago, and back then, I didn’t know about the book blogging community, I didn’t know about interaction or web design or any of it, I didn’t even use WordPress as my blogging platform.

Image result for i knew nothing gif

Yep, I knew nothing. All I knew was that I thought blogging seemed like fun and I wanted to share my thoughts on books and what I ate for lunch and the random adventures I was having? That’s why I started- just that simple desire to share my life somewhere, even though I didn’t really care if anyone even read it.

arrow

What are your plans for the future, or do you not know?

I think this question is talking more about big picture future? If so, then: I plan to attend college and then get a job. I don’t know what I want to study or what I want to be or where I want to go to college but it’s okay I’m okay, not stressed about that or anything. I also hope to eventually get married and have a family and, if I’m lucky, do some traveling too.

arrow

Do you prefer rereads or new releases?

This is such a hard question because I love new releases and rereads so much.

I think at the end of the day, I prefer rereads. Even though I love discovering new characters and plots and new favorites, there’s nothing more comforting to me than a reread. The most content you’ll find me is rereading Harry Potter or Mysterious Benedict Society or Percy Jackson, just soaking in the familiarity and nostalgia of the story.

arrow

Do you have any birthday/Christmas traditions?

Birthday traditions, no. I love my birthday, but it’s always fairly relaxed and there’s no set plan for each year. I don’t have the party planning committee to plan me something like in The Office.

Image result for it is your birthday gif

For Christmas, my family always goes to the candlelight church service on Christmas Eve and then open one present that night. We also always go to my grandmother’s house on Christmas day and celebrate with my extended family, and I love it so much! Christmastime is one of my favorite times of the year.

arrow

What’s the first book you can remember reading on your own?

I don’t even know. This probably isn’t the first book I read on my own (I’m guessing it was a picture book first), but one of my earliest memories of reading by myself was reading The Boxcar ChildrenI was seriously obsessed with it.

arrow

What is your favorite hobby besides reading?

I don’t know if dancing counts as a hobby? I like to think of it as a sport, even though I know that’s a whole controversial can of worms. So, if that counts, then dancing!

If dancing doesn’t count, I would have to say hand-lettering. I don’t get to do this that much, but when I do, I always love the creativity and it’s so relaxing to me.

arrow

Top 5 contemporaries you’ve read?

Considering how many contemporaries I’ve read as of late, this was surprisingly easy to answer. A List of Cages, Foolish Hearts, Simon Vs., Starfishand Darius the Great is Not Okay are my current top five.

A List of CagesFoolish HeartsSimon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda (Creekwood, #1)StarfishDarius the Great Is Not Okay

I linked all the titles back to my review if you want to hear my thoughts! To put it briefly, I love and adore each of these with all my heart and will eternally be rereading them.

arrow

What is your ultimate 2000s throwback song?

Anytime I want a throwback that I can still sing like it isn’t a throwback, I definitely play Year 3000 by the Jonas Brothers. It’s truly iconic and I may or may not still know every single word.

arrow

What is one superpower you’d want?

I know this is the typical response for an introvert, but I really would have to say invisibility. I wouldn’t want it so I could spy on people or because I don’t want to be seen- I just feel like it would be nice to be able to melt into crowds every once in a while and observe without feeling watched.

arrow

Chat about your clothing style?

I usually am pretty relaxed about my clothes! Right now I’m wearing Nike shorts and a Comfort Colors shirt, which is the extent of my wardrobe in summer. I wouldn’t say I’m a trend follower, but I do adapt to the current trends if it’s something I like! (Example, I have white vans just like every other girl at my school. Though that might just be popular in my school, I have no idea.)

distressed skinny jeans from j. crew with brown suede ankle boots for fall | stripe j. crew top and pink leather crossbody bag | blush leather bag | frayed hem jeans | fall ankle bootscute but casual

That isn’t me and I don’t own any of those pieces, but that’s kind of my style?? (Though we all know 99% of the time I’m in leggings and a sweatshirt.) Basically, I’m no fashion blogger and never will be, but I try to wear cute outfits at school or if I’m going somewhere with friends, and I do like to buy and shop for clothes!

arrow

How do you find the time to blog and review consistently, while still trying to read and manage life?

For me, if I didn’t make time for blogging, it probably wouldn’t happen. During the school year, I’m so busy with school, homework, and dance that I can hardly even think about blogging during the weekdays. I have to remember to make time on the weekend, and sometimes that means staying up a little later than I planned to or putting off just a little bit of studying. Don’t be like me.

I definitely have to make sacrifices to blog consistently and juggle everything else going on in my life, but it’s all worth it to me because I love it so much!

arrow

What blogs do you love reading?

SO MANY, ahhh. I follow 87 blogs, and I don’t know if that’s a large number or a small-ish number? But I do know that I truly love all the blogs I follow.

I recently talked about some of my favorite blogs in my 2019 Book Blogger Nominations post, and I would recommend every single one of those blogs to everyone. Another blog I adore that isn’t a book blog but has bookish and lifestyle posts is Zoelogist!

arrow

If you could visit any bookish world, what would it be?

I feel like a gif is needed right here.

Image result for boat to hogwarts gif

I know, I’m such a nerd, but I couldn’t imagine picking anything besides the wizarding world. (Don’t worry, I’d go after Voldemort was gone.) I just love Harry Potter so, so much and I don’t think that will ever change.⚡️

arrow

Do you or did you used to like dolls?

I used to love dolls! Growing up, American Girl dolls were my favorite. I not only loved the dolls, but the books and movies were such a huge part of my childhood, too.

As a kid with a big imagination, I always loved dolls and could spend hours in our playroom just making up story after story about them in my head. Those are really great memories to look back on!

arrow

Ideal significant other?

This is such an interesting question, but I’m honestly not sure. I’ve never dated anyone and don’t plan to for a while. Some of the qualities that my non-experienced self hopes a future significant other would have are: a faith in Christ that helps me grow in mine, kind, intelligent, understanding, likes to laugh.

arrow

Favorite celebrity?

My favorite celebrity has been Taylor Swift for as long as I can remember. I’ve been listening to her music since her very first album came out! (Picture little Olivia lying on her bedroom floor next to her CD player, listening to all the words and writing them down so she remembers them. Yes, that was me.)

Image result for taylor swift gif

Since she’s such a public figure, I know people have lots of differing opinions on her, but I have a positive one. I’ve been to some of her concerts, and her genuine kind nature has really come out as she speaks to the audience, not to mention I love her songs and a lot of what she stands for. I just think she’s a great human being!

arrow

Who are some bloggers you’d like to meet someday?

I have to say, I’m definitely too scared to actually ever meet anyone in real life that I met online! Not that I think any of you are robots or criminals, but still, stranger danger and basic Internet safety. 😉

But, in an ideal world where 1) that would be safe and 2) I wasn’t too shy anyway…then all of you? Like at a giant blogging convention? That would be amazing.

arrow

Describe your ideal home?

Can I just say Hogwarts?

arrow

Gansey or Logan to spend a day with?

I know exactly who put this question and it’s such a great question, but also extremely difficult for me because Gansey (The Raven Cycle) and Logan (Gilmore Girls) are two of the loves of my life.

Image result for logan huntzberger gif

As hard as this is, I think I have to pick Gansey. At the end of the day, he has more redeemable qualities, and I just, how could I miss a chance to see his boat shoes?

arrow

Would you call yourself an environmentalist? Why or why not?

Yes, I would! We only get this one Earth, and we need to do all we can to protect it.

arrow

Favorite authors?

This is based solely off of their books, by the way! I haven’t met any of these authors or done too much research into them, so it’s not based on their personalities. Though I’m sure they’re lovely people.

  • J.K. Rowling
  • Rick Riordan
  • Jane Austen
  • Heather Vogel Frederick
  • Adam Silvera
  • and a lot of others I’m definitely forgetting at the moment!

arrow

Top 5 favorite TV shows?

My favorite shows fluctuate- these are my top five at the moment, so some of these are shows that I do love, but maybe won’t go down in my forever TV hall of fame?? Because we all have thoseFriends and The Office and Gilmore Girls are all-time faves that I think will always be in my top five, though.

Image result for friends tv showImage result for the office showImage result for gilmore girls showImage result for gleeImage result for carbonaro effect show

By the way, in case you were wondering, I am in fact very upset that Netflix US is taking both Friends and The Office away because I honestly don’t know what I’m going to watch once they’re both gone.

arrow

What is your favorite song?

I don’t think I can pick an all-time favorite song, so I’ll just go with my current favorite song, which is I Don’t Care by Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber.

arrow

Do you like trees/nature/hiking/surfing?

I do like the first three- I’ve never tried surfing, mostly because I don’t live anywhere near a beach and have never been to a beach where surfing was super popular. I wouldn’t be opposed to trying it?

But at the same time, I think I’ve watched the movie Soul Surfer too many times to ever get that into surfing.

arrow

Do you have any pets?

Yes, I have a yellow Labrador Retriver named Brees! After a football player named Drew Brees, which was not my decision. She’s adorable and I love her.

These are some pictures I had of her in my WordPress library, so I must have posted them at some point- ISN’T SHE THE CUTEST EVER.

arrow

What movie adaptation of a book do you like better than the book?

This was actually so hard for me to think of an answer for, because I don’t watch that many book-to-movie adaptations, and when I do watch them, it’s for something like Harry Potter, and of course I’m always going to pick the book over the movie.

I think I’ll say the A Wrinkle in Time movie. I saw it when it first came out last year so it’s been a while, but I remember I really liked it and I only semi-liked the book??

arrow

Favorite book quote of all time?

This probably makes me a horrible bookworm, but I…never, ever keep track of book quotes I like in books. No matter how much it impacts me or makes me laugh or how beautiful it is, there is zero chance of me remembering it later. Wow, typing this out just made me realize how sad this is.

I guess I’ll have to be basic™ and say this iconic quote from Dumbledore because it’s like the only book quote I actually can recite.

“Happiness can be found in the darkest of times if only one remembers to turn on the light.”

arrow

What are some of your favorite foods?

I love a lot of food, but some of my favorites are any kind of pasta, chicken, strawberries, and of course chocolate.

Image result for i love chocolate gif

I relate to this child on a spiritual level.

arrow

What does blogging mean to you?

This is a great question to end it on, and the simple answer is, blogging means everything to me. Having a place to talk about books and life and just put my thoughts out there into the void is amazing! There’s nothing like it, and I’m so thankful to live in this day and age where blogging is possible.

I’ve met so many kind, loving souls, gotten a lot of book recommendations, and had the most wonderful time. Blogging is the best, and I love it so much!

arrow

There we have it, I finally answered all the questions. This is probably the longest post I’ve ever written- it’s going to end up being 3k words once I finish this outro.

If you made it this far, I LOVE YOU, you’re incredible, and I’m very impressed! If you didn’t and you’re just seeing this when you scrolled to the bottom of this post- I love you too, and I don’t blame you because there’s a heck ton of words here. 😉

Thank you for all the wonderful questions! I hope you guys liked reading my answers as much as I loved reading them. Again, thank you for sticking with me this far, and I hope you all have a lovely day!✨

What are your favorite shows and books at the moment? Do you have any pets? Are you like me and forget to keep track of book quotes? I’d love to talk with you in the comments.

  1. there’s something about q&a’s that’s so comforting to read? like, i’m so happy and content to just hear your thoughts on ridiculously specific topics ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

i am SO impressed with your dancing routine. i have NO moves and even worse coordination and the best i can do is jump around in my room. anyway, to handle that with school and home life AND Blogging? you’re a queen 👏

olivia, WHEN are you going to read the aftg series (the foxhole court)- i keep screaming about these books to everyone and your answer to the movie/show adaptation would be these books. this is me very subtly hinting that you should read them so we can freak out about them together.

high five on the dolls obsession, my parents probably wondered what the hell happened to the dolls loving 10/10 girly girl.

um ok but the huge blogging convention? i somehow magically really want this to happen even tho IRL we’re all dorky midgets who would have no idea what to do but that’s okay.

congratulations on the 500 followers, btw! it’s what you deserve 😭💛

    Liked by 1 person

    • THIS MADE ME SO HAPPY. Yes, I completely get that feeling! Honestly, it’s very similar to the feeling I get when I’m rereading or rewatching the early Harry Potter books/movies and it’s Christmastime and they’re all happy and adorable and young.😭❤️

Ahh, thank you!! (But I’m sure you’re much more coordinated than you think. And also, I do still jump around in my room quite often, despite also Actually Dancing.)

WAIT, I really want to read this series soon?? I’ve actually been looking to see if it’s checked back in at my library recently because I’m interested in it. Isn’t this the series that has a main character named Neil or something or am I completely off and making this all up??

HA, glad I wasn’t the only one that spent hours alone playing with dolls as a child…(this was a sign of my introverted nature at a young age)

Yes yes yes exactly?! It would be okay because none of us would know really want to do and most of us would probably be shy but it would be FUN.

Oh my goodness, thank you so so much! You’re so sweet and I’m so happy we are blogging buddies.❤️Thank you for this gem of a comment!!

  2. At first I didn’t remember which questions I asked, but as soon as I saw them, I was like “oh, that’s it” 😅 But oh my god, you do so much dancing!!! I honestly would love to do more but I’m already stressed out with my school workload + everything else, so I just take as many as I can in the summer. But I hope you have a lot of fun taking contemporary this season!! If you love modern or lyrical (both of which I’ve unfortunately never taken because my studio doesn’t offer them), you’ll definitely love contemporary 💕

Your dog is literally the cutest ever!!! Brees is a really cute name (even if she’s named after a football player lmao). And oh god, I related so much to your little comment about not knowing what to study in college or which college to go to. So many people in my grade already have everything figured out, and it just stresses me out when they ask me and I have 0 idea! And like, I’d love to study English or go into a liberal arts related field, but money is a problem 😭

Okay this comment is already long, so I’ll end it here. But I loved this Q&A a lot, and congrats again on well-deserved 500 followers 💗

    Liked by 1 person

    • That always happens to me during Q&As, haha!! It didn’t tell me who asked what but I feel like you maybe asked a dancing question. 😉 That’s so cool you can take a lot in the summer! My studio doesn’t have normal classes in the summer which is sad. :// We have a few required summer classes but it’s definitely not at the level of regular classes, and then summer intensives are just really expensive, so I don’t do much dancing in the summer. I am excited for contemporary and I hope you have an awesome dance season!💓

AWW, THANKS. Haha, I’ve gotten used to her being named after a football player but everyone always assumes her name is “Breeze” like the wind, lol. Okay I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who has zero idea of my future besides the fact that I want to go to a college and get a job?? Yes, same here- I’ve been going on college tours and have realized that I’m going to need to work reallllly hard these last years of high school because getting scholarships needs to happen.

Thank you so much!! That means a lot.🤗*virtual hug*

      Liked by 1 person

      • Ahaha yup!! I asked a dance question, and I think also the rereads vs new releases one 😎 And aahh that makes sense! I think my studio has the same level summer classes, but a lot of them are combined with other levels so things are usually easier ☺

And aahhh same!! I’ve been researching different colleges, but it’s hard because I don’t want to know what to major in and can’t choose schools based off of it. But I definitely need to up my volunteer hours 😅

        Liked by 1 person

        • Ahh, that’s the same at my studio! Yea, I like getting to know other dancers that I wouldn’t normally have classes with, but it’s just not as intense as it normally is 🤗

Agh, yes, VOLUNTEER HOURS. Every time I think of them I get so stressed out because we’re supposed to have a certain amount by graduation and I am…quite far behind, and while I still have time, I’m scared lol.

  3. I NEED SYBG AS A MOVIE. Now that you’ve mentioned it, it sounds amazing haha.
Early 2000s music was the best music for sure & I’d like to bring it back. I never listened to the Jonas Brothers though – I don’t think they were really popular in the UK to be honest as I never heard any of their stuff. I loved The Saturday’s and JLS, they were iconic haha.
The wizarding world would be my pick 110% – imagine going to Hogwarts!! I think I’d definitely be like Hermione and just be so fascinated in the whole world and how everything works – Flourish and Blotts would be my favourite shop!!

    Liked by 1 person

    • I know, right?! It would be the most adorable and perfect chick flick.😍
I haven’t heard of The Saturday’s or JLS, that probably makes me a bad 2000s music fan, oops. I guess I was more into the Disney side, like with Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana, haha!!
Ohhh my gosh, going to Hogwarts would be the best thing in the history of ever. Imagine just walking down the streets of Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley and riding on the Knight Bus and the sweets trolley on the train and!!

  4. I knew you’d know my question! And ahaha I would’ve picked him too ❤ For the boat shoes and to see the look on his face when he sees the orange bikini 😂 Amazing post and aahh don’t worry I write 3k posts all the time…. they mostly get edited though haha

As far as shows go I am queen of loving shows so I have a list, I don’t want to bore you though and so I’ll just say one or two . . . three maybe. ~ | Friends. Grey’s anatomy. Madam Secretary. 7. I love this post 😍😁 Yesss Gansey <33 Share him, will you? (loll i know u won't but that's ok) Yeeee chocolatee
OK I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT HOW I DON'T KEEP TRACK OF BOOK QUOTES and here you are so yeah i relate 😂 i wish i did though rip

  8. Your dog is beautiful, Olivia! My family has always loved Labs, they’re really great dogs. Besides all the other dogs we have, I personally have an Akita named Sandie 😉

Ahhh BOOK QUOTES. Yes. I absolutely LOVE quote — the problem? I’m like you and forget them, lol XD Though, there are two quotes that have somehow managed to stick themselves in my brain:
    (1) “People need stories, child. They bring us hope, and that hope is real.”
    – Brandon Sanderson, Skyward

    (2) “ ‘Didnt you know?’ I said, ‘Christians speak a kind of universal language.’
    ‘Oh, what’s that?’
    ‘It’s called Agape’.”
    – Brother Andrew, God’s Smuggler

    Liked by 1 person

    • Thank you, Julia! Wow, that’s so awesome. What others dogs do you have besides Sandie?? I love that name by the way.

BOTH OF THOSE QUOTES ARE SO GOOD. I love that you remember them because they’re so beautiful. ❤

P.S.- I've been wondering this for a while, but keep forgetting to ask you! Do you have a blog called Lit Aflame? Your comments always link me back to the Pawsome Press and I was just wondering you had another blog. (If not, then disregard my confusing comment. 😉 )

      Liked by 1 person

      • Aw thank you! Well…we have a little yorky mix named Max, another Akita named Sofie, a Pyrenees/Anatolian mix named Sadie, and a Belgian Malinois named Ginger. XD So.. quite a few, lol, thankfully, we live out in the country so there’s plenty of space for them.

Yes! Lit Aflame is my main and only blog. The Pawsome Press is just a blog I have contributed to before (so I have an account signed in on it), but I don’t know why it keeps taking you there???? — It shouldn’t be linking you to the Pawsome Press… Anyway, yes — LitAflame.Blog is my blog! Sorry for the confusion. 😉
(Also, I always put “Julia @Lit Aflame” as my name because there are a lot of “Julia”s around the blogosphere and figured it’d be easier to recognize me that way XD)

        • WOW, I ALREADY LOVE THEM ALL AND I DON’T EVEN KNOW THEM. They sound so cute and their names are so so amazing!

Oh, got it! Well, I’m glad to know that I should visit your main blog because I have been curious for a while if Pawsome Press was your only one. Thank you for letting me know!

  9. Awesome post! I loved seeing you answer the questions. Brees is just the most adorable, squishable dog I’ve ever seen! I have a tuxedo cat named Oreo. At the moment I just finished reading The Selection by Kiera Cass and I’ve currently been watching NCIS and Longmire (I’ve been wanting to get back into Battlestar Galactica for awhile. Sigh. Starts to ship Caprica with Gaius but changes mind because Caprica’s just so shy and sweet and adorable but yet they’re a cute couple). I would call myself a feminist and environmentalist too. And, yes, pink is the absolute best. Especially pastel pink. It’s aesthetic, people!

    Liked by 1 person

    • Thank you, McKayla! Brees is so squishable, ahh. Oreo sounds adorable too, and that’s such a great name for a tuxedo cat! Ohh, I read The Selection forever ago- do you like it? I don’t watch either of those shows, but I hope you enjoy them and can get back into Battlestar Galactica soon.🤗 YES, pink is seriously the most aesthetic and beautiful color ever!💓💞💖

  10. Awww this is such a sweet post, and I loved learning all this stuff about you! I did a little dance before and it was so much fun (Tap, Jazz, and contemporary). Lyrical/contemporary is my absolute favorite so I hope you enjoy it when you start!! I’m so happy you mentioned A List if Cages here! It’s one of my FAVORITES! I seriously cannot stop screaming about it. ❤️ And I feel ya about Hamilton! It was on tour near my city, but I never had a chance to go! *sighs*

    Liked by 1 person

    • Ahh, thank you so much, Kelly! That’s so kind of you to say.💓*virtual hug* Oh my gosh, that’s awesome that you’ve done dance and that you love contemporary, I’m so excited to get started with it. YES, A List of Cages is my most favorite book and I also can’t ever stop recommending it to everyone at all times. 😉 I’m so happy you love it because it’s underrated and deserves so much more attention?! Agh, I’m sorry you’re in the same boat with me as far as seeing Hamilton- I hope you get to see it sometime soon. <33 Thank you for your incredible comment!

  11. I absolutely LOVED reading all of your answers to these questions! Your dog is adorable. And I actually just recently started working at a dance studio so I can now appreciate all the dedication and hard work of dancers aha.
My favorite book is Sorcery of Thorns, and lately I’ve been bingeing She-Ra on Netflix but I’m looking for a new tv show to get really into. Daredevil, Stranger Things, and The Goldbergs are some of my faves though.
I have 2 dogs, a cat, and 2 horses. And I’m definitely like you and forget to keep track of book quotes 😂

    • Yay! Thank you for reading.🤗💓That’s so cool that you work at a dance studio! Are you a former/current dancer?
Ooh, I haven’t ever heard of Sorcery of Thorns but I’ll go look it up on Goodreads right now. If you haven’t yet watched Friends, I really recommend that as a good show to get into! It is leaving Netflix US at the end of the year, though, so if you’re in the US and don’t plan to binge the whole thing before then, maybe start another show. If you liked Stranger Things, maybe you will like Riverdale?
Ahh, so many pets! Haha, glad you could relate to remembering absolutely zero book quotes. XD

      • Sadly, no. I tried dancing for a year but I wasn’t coordinated enough so it just wasn’t for me 😂 I love working at the dance studio though, it’s so awesome!
Yess I highly recommend Sorcery of Thorns! It hasn’t been out long, but I haven’t seen a single bad review on it, so I’m sure you’ll love it too 💙 I have seen Friends before, but I’ve never tried Riverdale so maybe I’ll check it out! Thanks for the rec.
        Lol yes.

  15. I’m so mad because the original comment I wrote for this post just didn’t save correctly and it got lost, but i am gonna try and comment again because this Q&A was just so good!! I loved getting to know more about you. And I wish I could be better about my faith. I actually go to a catholic school, but idk honestly, going to church just kinda feels like a hindrance for me lately because I’ve been so busy with school, blogging and reading 😦 speaking of those, what you said about making time for it is so true! I only get to read during school break times now because once I get home, I just do homework and maybe blog hop a little. Also I have so much respect for anyone who can dance! People just look so cool when they do it, & I actually tried to be a dancer before, but I just can’t count to save my life! Also your dog is so cute!! 😍😍😍

    • OH NOOO, well, thank you so much for commenting again!! I’m sorry it didn’t work the first time though. :(( I definitely understand faith getting put more on the backburner in the midst of your busy life- I often feel the same way and have to redirect myself. ❤ I feel you with blogging in my moments of spare time, during the school year I basically only look at WordPress on the weekends. *tear* Aww, thanks, haha! I can guarantee I do not always look cool while doing it, but it is fun and I love it.😂Thank you so much for the sweet comment, Caitlin!

  17. I love this post, Olivia!! After reading it I feel like we should just be best friends (except I’m also lowkey scared to meet bloggers in real life because stranger danger; when I went to yallwest I knew that some bloggers I know would be there but I purposefully didn’t tell anyone I was going to avoid them lmao). I also love pink, Harry Potter and Hogwarts (I’m still waiting on my letter…), would love to see a Since You’ve Been Gone movie, and love contemporary books, hand lettering (although I’m terrible at it), and dancing (although I quit during hs, I’m hoping to get back into it in college!) Congrats on 500 followers!!!

Ahh, I love that we have all these things in common, that's awesome. I hope you do get back into dancing, because it's such a great release from stress and just life! Thank you again, you're the sweetest🤗

I LOVE your reply to if you could visit any bookish world 😂 And I’m sort of the same way with bookish quotes? I read a lot on my kindle so whenever I see something I like I highlight it and then it’s saved to my Goodreads, which is super convenient. But recently, I’ve been asked what my favorite quote is, and I saw that all the stuff saved to my Goodreads are sarcastic one-liners, and I know I can’t answer that because people are generally looking for inspiring stuff when talking about favorite quotes 😂

Haha, I mean, I couldn’t say anything besides Hogwarts. 😉 Oh, that is convenient! I almost always read library books, so I can’t write in them and I usually don’t have my phone right there to take a picture. HA, I love that you love all the sarcastic one liners?? That’s awesome.

  22. i absolutely loved this q&a and getting to know more about you, olivia!
i am so impressed that you’ve tried so many different styles of dancing. i really love watching dance, and i’m sure i’ve mentioned this before, but i think it’s really nice that you’re able to experiment with so much. contemporary is one of my favorites as well and i’m excited for you!
i also love that you mentioned taylor swift, because it’s something we have in common. i remember listening and memorizing the lyrics to her songs as a pre-teen as well, sitting on my bedroom and just singing them away. i feel like i’ve learned a lot of english just through her lyrics!
i think it’s really sweet that you have so many traditions during christmas time. my family doesn’t have any, which is probably why i am not fond of this time of the year at all. but i do relate with not having any particular celebrations during my birthday; i just typically like to chill and do nothing, since it’s the one day of the year i can say it’s a day for myself. it also typically makes me really introspective and kinda sad as well, because i tend to reflect way too much on the past year and thinking about all the things i haven’t accomplished yet. i think everyone feels this way around their birthdays, though? idk, let me know what you think!

    • Aww, thank you very much, Lais!💘
Ahh, I’m so excited for contemporary. My studio has more of a classical feel sometimes so I’m looking forward to getting more outside of the box and into a new, modern type of dancing!
I LOVE THAT SO MUCH. I just love the good Taylor Swift has done in the world, the fanbase she’s built, and the true loveliness of her songs and lyrics. I’m so happy you love it too, and that’s awesome that it helped you learn more English!
I relate with the birthday insightful thoughts. I agree, it’s so nice to just have a day that you know is yours and not feel guilty about treating yourself a little bit! (Not that we should ever feel guilty about treating ourselves, but it happens.) I always reflect too, and yes, while I try to focus on the good that has happened, there’s always a moment of “oh, wow, I’m x amount of years old and this is what I’ve done, and I still have so much left to do.” Birthdays are a day that make me realize how precious life is and how quickly and slowly is passes us by, if that makes any sense.

  23. I didn’t know your favorite color was pink until I saw your insta-story! I don’t know why I felt like I knew what it was, but for some reason I think I subconsciously thought it was yellow. When I get asked that now, I usually pick one on the spot or I say I don’t have one. When I was little and people would say they didn’t know what they’re favorite color was, I would be like what??? how do you not know what your favorite color is? And now I’m that person.
The Boxcar Children! I remember those too.
Ahh Year 3000! We listened to that on the way to Mexico last week. Other throwback songs that are fun to listen to on the car: Love Story, Shut Up and Dance, What Makes You Beautiful. I’m kind of cheating because I love the last two in general. It’s a tradition at my summer camp for the senior guys to serenade the senior girls with some pop song, and I’ve already told my friends that I want either of those songs.
Haha, I think dance is a sport!
Ahhhh, thank you for mentioning Zoelogist! :))
Oh wait, when are they taking off Friends? I know they’re taking off The Office in 2021 because that’s our graduation year.
I’m guessing you’ve listened to Ed Sheeran’s new album? I love that they’re all collabs! We also listened to his new songs on the car, especially South of the Border because we were literally going south of the border. I think Beautiful People is my favorite. It has strange and interesting lyrics for a pop song.
    I LOVE chocolate.
Okay, I actually do keep track of a good amount of quotes I like, but I honestly can’t decide which option is better because sometimes when I’m typing out the quotes, I get impatient and I question if it’s worth it or not because I don’t know what I’m going to do with them.
Hm, I would say my favorite show at the moment is Stranger Things because that’s the only one I’m watching right now. I think I’m on episode six now? On season one, haha.

    • Haha, that’s so funny! Yellow was actually my least favorite color until recently, but now I actually do like it, though it’s not my favorite. Maybe it’s the Hufflepuff in me that gave you yellow vibes? Ah, no, haha! What do you usually say if you give a color on the spot? I subconsciously think yours is blue.
      Ahh, yes!
Those really are great songs to scream to in the car. I can truly say that I have jammed out to all of those at least once and they are all great songs to scream to. :)) That’s so cool about the serenade!
You’re welcome!! I’m glad I could mention it.
They’re taking Friends off in 2020, so we only have five months left with it. I’m so sad, aghhh, because it’s my comfort show and I love to just watch a random episode whenever I need to be cheered up. :(( And The Office, ahh! Yeah, when my friend and I found out, we were like, “The last semester of senior year is going to be horrible without The Office to make us laugh.”😂
I’ve listened to all the songs that are avaliable on Amazon music! I need to listen to the others on YouTube. So far I’ve heard Beautiful People (it’s my favorite too!!), The Best Part of Me is You (I love it) and Antisocial (good beat, but not really my type of song).
      Chocolate is A+++!!
I feel like keeping track of quotes will end up being a good thing! I wish I could look back on quotes. I actually started keeping track of a few after writing this post, though most of them are from Harry Potter, lol.
How do you like Stranger Things? I’m too scared to watch it, haha, but my dad and friends like it.

      • No way! Ohh yea, maybe the Hufflepuff factor. Hm, I’ve said red or yellow multiple times before, but if you asked me right now, I think I might say a more mellow color like blue or green. I think it depends on my mood. Blue was my favorite color for a really long time! I loved purple for a few years and then blue. Or maybe the other way around.
Oh my goodness, only five months left of Friends? Agh, I will need to binge it over Thanksgiving and Christmas break or something. Oh nooo :(( Do you know where Friends will be going? Haha, ahh dang. One of my friends gave her opposite take which I thought was interesting-she actually wanted them to take them off because all of the money used for Friends and The Office could’ve gone towards making a bunch of other new shows and movies. Both opinions make sense to me.
I really hope so! Haha, we should share good quotes we find with each other randomly.
It’s good! I’ve watched most of the episodes with my friends-it becomes almost not scary when I watch it with other people.

        • I love that your color depends on your mood, though! You’re kind of like those mood necklaces that were so popular back in the day. (Did you ever have one of those, lol? The things that you rubbed and they turned the color of your supposed mood?)
I know, ahh! I’m really sad. I think it’s going to whatever app NBC is going to stream its shows on now- I’m not sure what it’s called, though. Hmm, I definitely see your friend’s point. I personally would rather have Friends and The Office, because they’re my all-time faves and I binge them way more frequently and enjoy them more than Netflix originals, but I can see how I would want them to leave if I had a more mediocre opinion of them.
Yes!! Here’s one that I came across on Pinterest that I thought was really romantic and sweet. It’s from The Selection, which I haven’t read in years. “Break my heart a thousand times if you like. It was only ever yours to break anyway.”
That’s how I feel with Riverdale! I never would have made it past the first episode if I wasn’t watching it with my friend.

  24. Omg Olivia I feel bad because I’m so behind on blog hopping and I’m like multiple months late to this post, but I really enjoyed reading it!! I think The Boxcar Children were the books that really got me into reading (as well as Harry Potter and the A to Z Mysteries series), so they have a very special place in my heart, and it made me so happy that you mentioned them!

On an unrelated note, your dog is really cute omg ❤

Also, I didn't know that Netflix is getting rid of Friends?! I've only seen a few episodes but I guess I'd better watch some more of them quickly before they remove it, haha.

Aww, A to Z Mysteries!! I remember those being the first books I checked out from my school library in kindergarten, I can still picture where they were on the shelf. And the Boxcar Children- agh, my heart!

      Aww, thanks, haha! ❤

I KNOW, I'm so sad. Thankfully Friends is pretty much all over regular TV, but it won't be the same now that it's not on Netflix.
